Philosophy

I believe that every child can learn and that every child holds genius within them.

I believe that there are as many intelligences as there are children.

I believe in creating a classroom climate that honors the genius in every child.

I believe that reading is the most essential skill that every child must master.

I believe that relationships are the foundation of an excellent school experience.

I believe that creating and designing are transformational skills in which students should engage regularly.

I believe that traditional schooling must radically change in order to effectively teach children for today's world.

I believe that setting high expectations leads to great success and accomplishment for each child.

I believe that nurturing children's natural curiosity is one of the most important things that we can do for kids.

I believe that kids are motivated to learn even though they may not be motivated to learn what and how we want them to learn.

I believe that kids will achieve amazing things if we get out of their way.

I believe that the classroom should be about the students and not the teachers.

I believe that giving kids autonomy in their learning will motivate them more than anything else we do.

I believe that collaboration is a key element in a child's success.
